Short presentation:

This LLD is called Hispano-Suiza because it is equiped with an in-line 6 cylinder diesel engine coming from this prestigious company.

It uses a hydraulic transmission from the well-known company VOITH, some dry cluthes and 2 different reduction (small and high speed).

Between axles and gear box, chains are used to transmit the power.

Retirement by the CFTR: -

The switcher was not in use during 7 years and the bodywork began to decline. A lot of linkages were also damaged. A lot of rust dissolver, of oil and of course elbow grease were necessary to repair it and after one complete winter, it was ready to run in and around the depot or to help repair other machines. The state of its wheele drives doesn't allow it to run on the line of the CCI. And for a wheel reprofiling, we will need some decades!

Now it is used to pull the grass-cutter and this combination allows a very effective brushing of the line. This is a task performed by the CFTR.

Pictures (CFTR):

The Hispano-suiza had exceptionnally the right to run on the short line during the anniversary party in may 2013.
