General technical data:
General view: Builder plate: Short presentation: The LLD was a switcher built in 1953 by the company "Locomotives & Locotracteurs Diesel" near Paris in Batignolles-Châtillon. It was equiped with an in-line 8 cylinders diesel engine from a builder known under the name Willème and a mechanical transmission with gears and clutches. From the gear to the wheels, the developers opt for a transmission with rods. Life at CFTR:
This locomotive came from the CFTVD and it was very long in use for the operation at the beginning of the association. First it had some technical failures and fatigue and secondly bigger repairs were necessary that the association could not perform. Furthermore this switcher was not so easy to drive and the number of members which were able and willing to run it was reduced. The association had acquired the Deutz so the need for the LLD was not so high. Because no one was interested in its restauration, this switcher with its impressive in-line 8 cylinder diesel engine has been scraped at the harbor in 2006. Pictures (CFTR): External links: More
